Rules keep the peace. Trust me.
1. No spam (unless you're Elly) If you've got writer's block, say so and then take a break or something, but don't keep posting one liners and such. If you get the urge to talk but don't want to roleplay, visit the General section; that's where you could most likely get away with a bit of spam and still be following the rules.
1.a Please , do NOT post twice in a row. It's impossible for people to reply a minute after you post, be patient. And if you need to correct or add something to your previous post, there's a modify button.
2. Be courteous. I don't care if you think so-and-so is stupid, you still need to be respectful. If you've got a problem with someone, contact an administrator.
3. No posting vulgar or offensive material on the site. This includes anything that bashes religion, race, or any member of this site. It also includes pics that have nudity in them, illegal activity, sex, or a serious amount of gore.
3a. Any kind of bigotry will get you banned. That shit don't fly around these parts.
4. Yes slash roleplay is allowed. If you don't like it, then turn around and walk away.
5. These forums are PG-13 and up. You must place a rating on your title when making a new thread. (PG-13 to R) If you don't, then we will just assume your thread is rated G or PG.
5a. If you want to roleplay something a little more on the hardcore side, be it sex, drugs or rock 'n roll, go to the Password Secure boards. Make sure you have a mature attitude before you ask an admin for the password.
6. Please try to keep posts in third person.
Ex -
Wrong Way: I walk into the room and eat some noodles.
Right Way: Jingles walked into the room and ate some noodles.
Remember third person and past tense, and it will all be fine. We also understand if you aren't very literate, but put some effort forth, please.
6a. We are not elitists, Xtorted is open to roleplayers of all levels, from beginners to those who have been doing this for years.
We're a cool bunch, if we do say so ourselves.
6b. There is no word limit. We're firm believers in quality over quantity.
7. I shouldn't even have to mention this but, do not godmode/powerplay/etc. Don't go around controlling other people's characters, that is just rude. Also, your character is not invincible and cannot escape any and all harm. And no, your character is not the most beautiful thing to ever walk the earth, get over yourself.
8. Yes, yes you can curse. Try not to drop an f-bomb in every sentence though.
